    Ebay item 10/29/08
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Extensively-altered-1973-V12-e-type-roadst ...
Current bid $1,000 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. 42k miles.

    Sellers description:
I'm selling my jaguar project with only the upholstery to be completed. This car started life as a 1973 2+2 long wheelbase. I've spent over a year extensively altering the body tub, including shortening the wheelbase to that of the earlier roadsters. It has altered rear deck and role bar tunnel as well as fixed side glass. This was designed to be reminissant of the xkss and D-type racing models. The car runs very well. All mechanical equipment was inspected during restoration and at that time, only the clutch needed replacement. The engine runs strong and clean. The windshield pillar tops need to be fabricated and installed to complete the windsheild set up. All interior panels have to be intalled. The boot lid release cable needs to be supplied and installed.

Opening bid $40,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
One of a kind Restomod XKE Roadster--This is the car Jaguar should have made! Be the hit of the show circuit this year.

    * 1973 Jaguar V-12, 4 Speed Manual Drive train mounted to Series II, Short Wheel Base Roadster Tub. Custom D-Type Wind Tunnel behind driver.
    * All bright work lovingly removed, sand-blasted, and powder coated in "black." (Including five wire wheels, complete exhaust system and much of the engine)
    * Custom leather interior done by famed, hot rod interior specialist Junior McClelland. All seats, dash, panels and complete trunk covered in saddle leather with black Crocodile leather trim. Carpets are new tufted wool ($100/yard) over Dynamat sound deadener. New Nardi wood steering wheel and Nardi shift knob.
    * Killer sound system which includes Pioneer 7" DVD/GPS/CD/MP3 Head Unit, JBL 400 Watt, Four-Channel Amp in front driving 6" Focal Component Speakers in the Doors and Dash and 6 X 9 Focal Speakers in the back bulkhead. A second 1200 Watt JBL amp drives the twin Infinity Kappa 10" subs in a leather covered, custom box mounted in the trunk. Amps are mounted on a custom leather-covered platform behind the seats.
    * Paint is nearly new and applied while on a rotisserie. It is not perfect or show-quality, but is stunning just the same.

This car is not for introverts who dislike attracting attention, or for conformists who are afraid to commit the heresy of hot-rodding a classic Jaguar. This car stops traffic wherever it goes, and never fails to attract huge crowds at shows. It also runs like a scalded ape (no apes were harmed during the writing of this description) In short, this is the most fun car I've ever owned.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
