Engine Size 5.3L V12

Original market USA
This Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 Roadster is a ‘project’ example of the stylish classic roadster, wearing an attractive colour scheme.
Offered as a complete restoration project; this Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 is an original left-hand-drive Open Two-Seater (OTS) Roadster, which is noted to be highly original.
Under the bonnet is a 5.3-litre V12 engine, which produces around 275hp and sends it to the rear wheels via a synchromesh four-speed manual gearbox.
This example is believed to have first been delivered to the United States, where it is noted to have been used for around 20 years before being imported into Sweden (EU) in 1994, where it is currently registered. After this, it was used for several years, during which time a new soft-top roof was installed. The owner’s intention was to restore the car, but the project never began due to work commitments, and it is accompanied by a number of accumulated parts.
The seller notes that despite the car’s appearance, it has been regularly started, run, and moved during its current ownership and that it can be driven, but is offered as a ‘project’.
The five-digit odometer displays 57,912 miles, however this is not warranted.
Equipment and features
This Series 3 E-Type is finished in the Primrose Yellow hue with a black soft top roof, over a black leather-trimmed cabin with a leather-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel.
It rides on a set of period-correct 15-inch wire wheels with BFGoodrich tyres.
The specification includes Smiths gauges, a Kienzle analogue clock, a row of rocker switches for the major controls, and a period-correct Craig-branded AM-FM radio.
The vehicle will be supplied with an owner’s manual, and a workshop manual, as well as various spares which include spoked wire wheels, exhaust silencers, a front grille, a complete leather upholstery set (not fitted), a carpet set and various interior fabric parts.
Condition
Specific notes from the seller include: the bodywork is intact, though it has rusted through in a few places. There is minor damage to both the sheet metal and paintwork, and the bootlid has been cracked and will need straightening. Inside, the leather upholstery is well used, but in relatively good condition considering its age.
The seller notes that the odometer and speedometer does not work.
