Car at auction in France 12/25

drouot.com/fr/l/31618231-1973-jaguar-type-e-serie-3-v12-cabriolet-carte-grise-de

Auction description:

15 décembre Osenat

48 - 1973 JAGUAR TYPE E Série 3 V12 Cabriolet.

Estimation 65 000 € - 85 000 €

• Classic vehicle registration document

• Chassis number: UD1S22670

• Engine number: 7S9840LB

• V12, manual gearbox.

This Jaguar E-Type V12 was delivered new to the United States in 1973. It is equipped with a 5.3-litre twelve-cylinder engine mated to a manual gearbox. It belongs to the ‘7S’ family of engines developed for the Series 3, with power supplied by four Zenith-Stromberg carburettors.

With the bodywork in good condition, the car's maintenance is well documented, with a set of invoices covering the 1990s and 2000s totalling approximately £37,000. The brakes have undergone significant recent work: the master cylinder and brake booster were replaced in 2023.

The ultimate and most refined iteration of the E-Type line, this Series 3 V12 represents the pinnacle of Jaguar roadsters, offering the perfect fusion of legendary design and iconic twelve-cylinder power.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
