This 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 is said to have been purchased new by Vancouver, British Columbia, restaurateur Umberto Menghi and was acquired from Menghi by the current owner in 2021. Powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential, the car is finished in Silver Gray over gray leather upholstery. Features include chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels, bright hubcaps, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, quadruple carburetors, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. This Series III E-Type is now offered in Canada by the seller on behalf of the owner with British Columbia registration in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in Silver Gray and features uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, a side-hinged rear hatch, quadruple exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers. A dealership badge from Gordon Bros. Vancouver is affixed to the rear of the car. The seller notes that wear to the paint is evident.
Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels feature bright hubcaps and are mounted with Toyo Versado Noir tires measuring 215/70. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in gray leather as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. Interior amenities include a Blaupunkt AM/FM/cassette stereo, a passenger-side grab handle, a locking glovebox, and a heater. Wear is noted in the interior.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for battery voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are positioned in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 89k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 314 horsepower and 349 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller states that the vehicle was serviced by Silk Cat Automotive in North Vancouver, British Columbia, in June 2025.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The car number on the identification plate shown above is UC1S72944BW, whereas the British Columbia registration document omits the “UC” prefix and “BW” suffix from the VIN, citing the sequence 1S72944.
The vehicle is being sold on its British Columbia registration, which serves as the ownership document in British Columbia, Canada.
