I owned this car from 1970, and sold it in July, 2007. Unrestored, but freshened up about every 8-10 years.

This 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe reportedly spent its entire life in California until 2007, when it was purchased by the seller and relocated. Subsequent work included stripping the body and repainting it in Opalescent Silver Blue as well as retrimming the interior in red leather. Power is provided by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a heater. An aluminum radiator and a water pump were installed in 2022. The car was awarded first place in its class at the 2022 Jaguar Clubs of North America (JCNA) Midwest Regional Concours d’Elegance. This Series I coupe is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate, a tool roll, the owner’s manual, service records, a book detailing the restoration process, and a Kansas title in the seller’s name.
The car was stripped to bare metal and repainted in Opalescent Silver Blue in 2020, and the weatherstripping was replaced at that time. The windshield and rear glass were removed and reinstalled during the 2020 repaint, and the seller states they display 1964 date codes. Work in 2020 and 2021 included repairing the hood and replacing the exterior lighting and rear body trim.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-section Coker Classic redline tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The steering rack boots were replaced in 2014. Work in 2020 included replacing the emergency brake cable and steering column bushings. The brake pads and rotors were replaced in 2022, and the brake master cylinder was replaced in 2025. The brake and clutch fluid reservoirs were also replaced under current ownership.
The cabin features bucket seats that were reupholstered in red Connolly leather in 2021, a color change from the factory Dark Blue and Light Blue scheme. The seat foam, Wilton wool carpets, headliner, and vinyl dash pad were replaced at that time.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 9k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features polished cam covers and triple SU carburetors. The cooling fan motor and blade were replaced in 2020. The engine was removed in 2022, at which time the water pump, belts, hoses, and clamps were replaced, an aluminum radiator was installed, and the engine bay was detailed. The starter gear, engine mounts, speedometer cable, and cam cover gaskets were also replaced in 2022.
The cylinder head stamping reads RA7054-9, which matches the Trust certificate.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The rear end was rebuilt with replacement bushings and shocks in 2016, and the rear suspension springs were replaced in 2020. The clutch and clutch slave cylinder were replaced in 2022.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
A book detailing the restoration process is included in the sale.
