This 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe was refurbished in 2024 and is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Cream over dark blue leather, the car is equipped with enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, Wilwood front disc brakes, Spax shocks, and triple windshield wipers. The seller acquired the car in 2015 and reports purchasing it from the original owner. This XKE Series I coupe is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, service records, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Cream and was repainted during the refurbishment. Exterior features include a louvered clamshell hood, enclosed headlights, triple windshield wipers, a driver-side mirror, a side-hinged rear hatch, wraparound chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller states that the doors stick on the replacement weatherstripping.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 185-width Michelin X red-stripe tires. The car is equipped with Spax shocks as well as four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors and Wilwood front calipers. Suspension and brake work performed during the refurbishment reportedly included rebuilding the front end and rear axle assembly in addition to installing replacement tie rods, ball joints, and brake components. Service in July 2022 involved cleaning and painting the rear differential and subframe, changing the differential fluid, and installing rear brake hard lines, rear XJ6-style brake rotors, and replacement rear shock hardware.
The cabin features bucket seats that were reupholstered in dark blue leather along with color-coordinated door panels and replacement carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim and lap belts. The seller notes the headliner was retained during the refurbishment.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles and has reportedly rolled over, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2024 reportedly included re-coring the radiator and installing a replacement fuel tank.
Cylinder head stamping RA4357-9 matches the number listed on the Heritage certificate.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
