When the E Type Jaguar was launched in March 1961 at the Geneva Motor show it attracted the attention of the whole world like no other car had ever done before, and never will in the future. There is no more of an iconic classic that the E-Type. With its stunning sleek bodywork, ground breaking performance & impressive handling it astonished all.

The E-Type was personally sought out and reimported from the U.S.A in 1989, following a disheartening search in the U.K for a good Reasonable priced rust free car ( This was the late 80s and back then for those who can remember cars were rare and Prices were astronomical… )
I bought a early series 1 because the specification was exactly as the U.K but Left Hand Drive.
The E-Type in its purest form, Milled Aluminium dash and consul, bucket seats and in my opinion the only and best version to have…
At home the car was extensively restored by a Professional E-Type Specialist, using the American rust free shell, with a full bare metal body respray. A R.H.D conversion, and a full new Black Leather Re-trim. The Car has all Original fittings restored where ever possible rather than replaced.
All original Chrome was professional prepared and rechromed to the highest standards.
As you can imagine during the restoration there has been thousands spent on new and replacement parts, Including New Wiring loom, refurbished Speedo and original early drilled steering wheel, new Brake pipes throughout, new exhaust and manifold, Header tank, Steering rack, new lights, petrol tank and pump.
The above has been photographically recorded.
The engine has been overhauled, with carburettor jets and needles replaced, new distributor leads with original vintage Champion spark plug caps, obviously plugs, points, distributor cap, rotors etc.etc.etc.
However although the engine starts well and runs, there is a drop in oil pressure once warm, and it was always my intention to rebuild the engine and respray the framework within the engine bay, As it stands the engine bay is in its original condition.
The engine has had a replacement head, but comes with the original matching numbers head, which could be used in a rebuild.
The Moss gearbox has been maintained and works perfectly.
The Car is fitted with a period Radio ( never tested ) which matches the aluminium dash. And comes fitted with chrome white wall wire wheels, with 4 spare stove enamelled wheels and tyres.
The car has been my pride and joy over the 14 years of ownership, since beening imported, and due to a house move was put in to storage, Where Unfortunately She slipped a little, and wasn’t used for months on end, only a quick start and round the block ! Yes I do agree with use it or loose it campaign….. Silly me. And now is being sold without a current M.O.T or Tax. Consequently the car hasn’t been on a long run for some time.
Now the car 14 years after restoration on the whole is still in excellent condition, with stunning paintwork, the only signs of age are some small areas of blistering on the wing/bonnet seams ( see photo ) and a small dent on the wing ( yes when stored in the garage ) which I am sure will push out.
To be honest with work commitments the car hasn’t had a great deal of use so the interior is excellent.
The XKR number plate is a bonus with its Jaguar connections.
The car drives well and basically needs some TLC to breath new life in to her, a little time spent on the engine would return dividends.
