www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-1964-1964-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-FHC-100-COMPLETE-BARN-FIN ...
Current bid US $5,000 Reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. 60k miles, location Charlotte, North Carolina
Sellers description:
1964 Jaguar E-Type. Series 1 FHC Left Hand Drive. 3.8, Moss Box 4 Speed. Sand exterior/ Black Interior. SERIAL NUMBER 888315. CLEAR TITLE. 33 Years in storage. Driven into barn in 1981 by second owner and left there until now. 100% complete except for heater fan and heater core and keys. Sold in North Carolina to original owner.
Pictures show everything you need to know. This is an incredible car for restoration. No wrecks ever. The monocoque is in good condition except for the floors, lower front bonnet and rockers have some rot. There is not one dent on the entire car. ALL trim is in incredible condition except for a slight tweak to the passenger headlight trim ring. Interior is all there. I have the spare wire rim, jack, upper door panels, door panel chrome trim and front bumper. Front bumper is straight as an arrow with all hardware/bolts attached.
The original owner repaired the floors at some point. They were not done to spec, but served the purpose for many years. This and and electric fuel pump and the Black paint over the original Sand paint are the only non-original parts/aspects of the car. Pictures show original Sand paint under the hood. You can also see Sand paint on some body panels where respray has come off.
Not one bolt has been touched on this car since it was parked in 1981 except for bolts holding down seats, which were removed in order to document condition of floors and removal of rear wheels to replace tubes in tires for rolling/loading/etc... I have not tried to crank the engine or turn over by hand. The car was driven into the barn and turned off by the second owner who I am in touch with.
BODY NUMBER V5423.
ENGINE NUMBER RA1288-9
GEARBOX NUMBER EB9231JS

I purchased this car on the 7th March 2015 from a company called Imports and Restorations based in Finland, the car was imported from the USA to the UK through Southampton port. The company I purchased the car from had a very convincing web site, land line numbers and supplied all the title documents, shipping documents etc. I paid £16,000 Sterling for the car, the money was transferred in to a UK TSB bank account. The car was not delivered. The fraud department are now investigating this. Please do not make the same mistake as me.
We have bought many cars over the phone, this was serious lesson, will not do it again

www.axvallclassics.com/ Is a scam website portraying themselves to import, sale and restore classic cars.
They provide contracts of sales, import duty documentation, and request 10 % deposit and the remainder once the car is shipped. The cars are stated as shipping to Southampton, but they disappear on delivery day. They operate out of Uk but are actually saying they are from Sweden.
DO NOT HAND OVER ANY MONEY, IF IT IS A CHEAP CLASSIC IT IS FAKE, DO NOT TAKE THE GAMBLE AND BUY OVER THE PHONE.

And again up for auction in the USA on BaT, a highly credible auction site. I feel its unlikely a scam this time but do be cautious.

This 1963 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe was initially distributed by Jaguar Cars of New York and was later shipped to England in 2014 to be restored. The car was acquired by the seller as a stalled project in 2022, and the restoration was completed before the car was sent back to the US in August 2022. Work included stripping the body and repainting it in black, reupholstering the interior in beige leather, and refreshing the mechanical components. A May 2024 service included repairing the headlight buckets, adjusting the triple SU carburetors, setting the timing, rebuilding the speedometer, and replacing the trailing arm bushings and carpeting, as well as the door latches for the passenger’s side and rear hatch doors. The car is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and equipment includes 15″ knock-off wire wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a heater. Following the completion of the build, the car received a Robb Report award at the Las Vegas Concourse in 2023, second place at the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance, and placed 3rd at a Jaguar Clubs of North America 2023 national championship. This XKE is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a tool kit, owner’s manuals, partial service records, and a Utah title in the seller’s name.
This example left the factory finished in black, and the seller states the body was stripped to bare metal and repainted during the refresh. Dents were repaired in the headlight buckets in 2024, and exterior equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, triple windshield wipers, a side-hinged rear hatch, and dual exhaust outlets.
Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels are retained with two-eared spinners and wrapped in Michelin XVS thin whitewall tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The trailing arm bushings were replaced in 2024.
The cabin features bucket seats that were re-trimmed in beige leather and are accompanied by color-coordinated door panels. Wool carpeting was fitted, and replacement sun visors were fabricated in 2024. Patterned aluminum trim adorns the center stack and console, and a radio delete panel has been fitted. The passenger’s door hinge was adjusted in May 2024, and the door latches for the passenger’s side door and rear hatch were replaced at that time.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset clock, while auxiliary gauges are located in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 31 miles, which represents the distance driven since the restoration was completed. The speedometer was rebuilt in 2024.
The 3.8-liter inline-six is said to have been refreshed, and it is equipped with triple SU carburetors. The engine is further equipped with an uprated radiator, a refreshed coolant expansion tank, and polished valve covers. A May 2024 service included adjusting the carburetors, setting the timing, and replacing the lower radiator duct shielding.
The block and cylinder head stampings correspond to the numbers listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A stainless steel exhaust has been fitted, and the exhaust clamps were replaced in May 2024.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate indicates that the car was dispatched on March 18, 1963, for the North American export market and lists factory equipment and identification numbers.
A tool roll will accompany the car, along with owner’s manuals, service manuals, and partial service records.

The Bonnet is incorrect for this car...I you look at pictures see a series 2 emblem.. Front opening is obviously a series 2.. Too big..
NOBODY on BAT mentioned this....REALLY?
Price was TOO high IMO.

Not sure what DOC knows of E types, but the bonnet opening, tie bar and badge are correct for a S1. Maybe that's why it wasn't mentioned on BAT. I can't speak on whether it was too expensive. It was an auction after all.
