Car returns to ebay 6/26
1963 Jaguar Series 1 XKE, Corvette LS-1 Injected, Tube Frame, Hardtop, Solid.
Seller mgb327, Somerset, Virginia
Current bid $10,000, 1 bid, ends in 6 days
This is a 1963 Jaguar Series 1 XKE hardtop I purchased four years ago. It is powered by a 2002 Corvette LS-1 fuel injected engine, with an automatic transmission. I understand this was built in Texas originally, I bought it from a Washington, D.C. estate. The owner was deceased, so I had to learn this car from using/driving it. I am a "car guy", have built a few fun machines, and this one is certainly fun. It can be restored back to original, the body it fairly straight and all metal. There is little or no rust. It has been debadged, bumpers removed, sort of stripped down to the "body" organic form. Whoever did this work did a fairly good job, no indications of spots where metal was added to cover holes, someone put some time and effort into this. Some minor surface rust on the bottom. The odometer shows 821 miles, I assume that would be 100821, but the title says 211000. (It is not accurate at any level). It is red with a gray interior, the rear quarter windows do open, the doors need new rubber gaskets, it is the toggle switch dash, has a JVC stereo which I have never turned on, the red front clip is not a great color match to the body, Stewart Warner gauges, electric fuel pump, 5.7 liter, Hurst Quarter Stick shifter, master switch for the battery, custom headers, no wiper blades, Simpson seatbelts, Dana 60 rear, Coil and link rear suspension, drum brakes rear, disc brakes front with a proportioner, rear tires are Goodrich P295/50R15, fronts are Blackhawk 195/63 R 15. American Racing charcoal mags all around, tires are great, enclosed headlamps, fuel cell, tubbed and fully tube caged, Speartech Injection System, aluminum radiator, two electric cooling fans, K&N intake filtration, front suspension is coil over shocks, push button door "handles", vin number is 887908. I cannot pull up any details with the vin, as it is too old. Great driver, had it out today. I have put maybe 500 miles on it, but I need to "shed" a few cars, as I just purchased two original 1950's Anglias. I am located near Charlottesville, Va. Great fun driving car, and dependable.
