This 1964 Jaguar XKE is a left-hand-drive Series I open two-seater that was manufactured on October 29, 1963, before being released for distribution through Henlys of London for personal export. The vehicle was refurbished by JK Restorations of Oswego, Illinois, between 1994 and 1998. The selling dealer acquired the car in February 2025 from the owners who had it redone in the 1990s. Power is supplied by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Cream over red leather, the car is equipped with a black soft top, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, and a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel. This XKE roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment records, two top boots, a tool kit, tire-changing tools, and a Nevada title.
Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. Finished from the factory in Cream, this example was stripped and repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment, after the floors, sills, door skins, closure panels, and trunk floor were replaced. The seller states that the car has since been repainted again in modern finishes and clearcoated. The black soft top was installed in 1998 by Ogden Top and Trim of Berwyn, Illinois. Features include a louvered clamshell hood, enclosed glass headlight covers, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, triple windshield wipers, a reverse light, and dual exhaust outlets. Two top boots will convey with the vehicle—one red and one black.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185R15 Coker Classic red-line tires that show manufacturing dates from 2025. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
Originally trimmed in black, the color of the leather interior was changed to red during the refurbishment, with the interior work being performed by Ogden Top and Trim. Details include red carpeting, a center console, black vinyl dash trim, a heater, a sliding rearview mirror, and a push-button radio. The clock and the radio are inoperative.
The 13″ Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located at the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 78k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The engine was overhauled in 1997, and the seller states that equipment such as the starter motor, alternator, regulators, and other motors were rebuilt using updated techniques and materials.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The gearbox, half shafts, and driveshaft were rebuilt in 1997.
More than a dozen pages of refurbishment records from JK Restorations between 1996 and 1998
A tool kit will accompany the vehicle, as will a Knock Off Spinner Tool kit in a carrying case
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and component numbers, distribution through Henlys of London, and a build date of October 29, 1963.
The Nevada title carries an Exempt odometer brand.
