For sale privately February 2013 on classiccarsforsale.co.uk
1964 Jaguar E Type Series I 3.8 £61,850
1964 Jaguar E Type Series I 3.8 Chassis: 861661 Original RHD example, Matching Numbers Jaguar
This particular example left the factory on the 1st of July 1964, as such she benefits from the dished floors of the later 3.8s, and is finished in a period correct "Golden Sand" metallic paint, complimenting the black hide interior and chrome wheels. An original RHD, home market supplied car, she was exported to Europe at the end of the 1960s. Receiving a comprehensive and documented restoration in the 1990s, this example has received limited use since then. A chassis file detailing the thousands of pounds spent on the vehicle since then is included in the sale. Some sensible and sympathetic performance upgrades have been fitted, such as Coopercraft brakes and a Kenlowe thermostatic fan, as such she is a joy to drive both on the open road and in town. Included with the car is a Jaguar-Daimler Heritage certificate which confirms the car to be a matching numbers example. This wonderful car is ready to enjoy immediately, with a fresh and thorough mechanical service having been carried out by a marque specialist and a fresh MOT certificate.

Sold by Twyford Moors Classic Cars of Havant in June 2026. Amended seller's description below.
www.jagxk.com/showroom/jaguar-e-type-jaguar-e-type-38-series-1-fhc-1964-fo
This Jaguar E Type is a desirable 3.8 litre model which, being a later car, features the dished floor that provides improved comfort. It is a UK, right hand drive example and left the factory in April 1964. It was sold by Eton Garages of Slough to Couture Lingerie of Grays in Essex. By the end of the 1960s it had been exported to Europe. It later received a well documented restoration in the 1990s. At this time it was upgraded with an electric cooling fan and uprated front brakes.
The extensive history file records the restoration work and maintenance carried out since. This is a running and driving car, having been driven here by the vendor, but it is in need of some attention. There are bodywork defects, including paint damage around the bonnet louvres. Mechanically the car requires some recommissioning, largely involving new rubber bushes and a carburettor rebuild. The car is priced to reflect the work required.
