Ebay item 7/14/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $27,800 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction. 73k miles. Bellingham, Washington
Sellers description:
I've had the car since 1988. When I bought the car it had about 70,000 miles on it; now it has a little over 73,000. The exterior paint is in great condition, there is absolutely zero structural rust. There are small areas of cosmetic rust in the engine bay, near the battery for example, that should be repainted. The chrome is all original and is starting to show small cracks in some areas. The tires are also quite old and should be replaced. Likewise, the rubber gaskets around the doors are old and starting to crack.
Despite those minor imperfections, the car is in great shape. It starts without trouble and runs and drives perfectly. With a little care and attention to detail, the car could be brought up to perfect condition.

Running & Driving Project
77k Miles Shown
4.2-Liter Inline-Six
Four-Speed Manual Transmission
Damaged Blue Paint
Damaged Black Leather Upholstery
15" Knock-Off Wire Wheels
Private Party or Dealer: Private Party
Lot #226411
This 1971 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe is a running-and-driving project that sustained fire damage in October 2024 when another car from the seller’s collection caught fire while parked nearby the Jaguar. The XKE’s remaining paint is Light Blue, and the damaged upholstery is black leather. The 4.2-liter inline-six is linked with a four-speed manual transmission, and other equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The vehicle runs and drives but exhibits fire damage, lacks glass, and is not roadworthy. Acquired by the seller in 1988, this XKE project is now offered at no reserve with tire-changing tools and an Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished in Light Blue prior to the fire, which damaged the paint on all body panels. The seller notes that the roof panel in particular requires bodywork. A louvered clamshell hood, sealed-beam open headlights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets are retained. Most of the glass is absent.
Some of the chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels sustained more damage than others, as pictured in the gallery below. The wheels are secured by knock-off hubs and are mounted with 185HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The condition of the black leather upholstery, the dashboard, and the rest of the interior are shown in the photo gallery. Air conditioning is among the vehicle’s equipment.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as gauges for battery voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and is said to have been rebuilt under prior ownership.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Damage to the underside is visible.
