Owner’s Notes
“This 1971 Jaguar XKE Series III 2 + 2 has been in my family since new—originally owned by my father—and I’ve personally cared for it for the past 25 years. It has always been garaged and remains an original, matching-numbers car with just 55,880 original miles. Powered by the legendary V-12 engine paired with an automatic transmission, it features four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, dual exhaust, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, factory air conditioning, Smiths instrumentation, the original AM/FM radio, and beautiful chrome wire wheels with spinners. The car has been thoughtfully maintained and updated where needed, including a rebuilt front end, rebuilt power rack-and-pinion steering, rebuilt heating system with new cables, and all four carburetors rebuilt. Recent upgrades include new rear control arm bushings, high-performance electric cooling fans with an aluminum shroud, a new header tank, new gas tank and fuel lines, LED headlights, and high-performance brake pads with drilled and slotted rotors, including the parking brake. The interior is in good condition overall but needs a headliner. The glass is good, the body is straight with no dents, and the chrome—including the bumpers and wire wheels—is excellent. The air conditioning blows cold. The paint is fair but shines up nicely. This is a solid, well-cared-for classic that’s ready to be driven and enjoyed anywhere.”
