1971 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 2+2 FHC

52,152 Miles (Indicated)

LHDautomatic

Winterswijk, Netherlands

VIN 1S70234BW

Exterior Regency Red

Interior Beige

This Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 2+2 FHC is a refined and charismatic classic British grand tourer, which is reported to benefit from significant recent maintenance.

It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.3-litre V12 engine, driving the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.

A US-delivered example, this E-Type was later imported to Germany, but has since been imported to the Netherlands, where it has only recently been acquired by the seller.

The odometer indicates 52,152 miles, though this is not warranted.

Equipment and features

This example is finished in the handsome shade of Regency Red, over a beige leather-trimmed interior, featuring a contrasting black dashboard and transmission tunnel, and chrome trim highlights.

It rides on a set of 15-inch painted-steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and slips, fitted with Nexen Nfera HD Plus tyres.

Equipment includes a top-tinted windscreen, a three-spoke steering wheel, Smiths gauges, push-out rear quarter light windows, an analogue clock, an AstroLine radio, and an air conditioning system.

The sale includes invoices covering the last five years, a German-language owner's handbook, German registration documentation, and the original US Title.

Condition

Specific notes from the seller include: the car was repainted prior to the current ownership. There are general age-related signs of use to the paintwork, the carpets display age-related wear, and there are three small tears of approximately 1cm beneath the rear seat.

The trip odometer is currently inoperative, though the main odometer is reported to function correctly.

The seller notes that a full MOT test inspection was carried out in 2026, prior to being imported to the Netherlands.

Service history

The seller states that the last maintenance was completed in March 2026 at an indicated 51,794 miles by Fenbumprenklup, comprising the replacement of all fluids and filters, new coolant hoses, new spark plugs and ignition leads, and four new tyres.

The seller states that additional work carried out under their ownership includes the replacement of the brake master cylinder, heater valve, coolant reservoir, and battery, the refurbishment of the starter motor, a conversion to electronic ignition, a carburettor rebuild, an air conditioning recharge and the replacement of all drive belts.

The seller reports that the cooling system has also received extensive recent refurbishment, including a new thermostat and associated pipework.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
