The Appeal
The vendor acquired it in 2016 and quickly set about a full bare metal respray in the current light champagne gold metallic, including that vanishingly rare hard top. He added a set of quality chrome wires and new Pirelli tyres to complete the aesthetic.
We’re told that the car comes with history dating back to 1986. In recent years, the car has been used sparingly but serviced regularly up to August 2025. It is fitted with electronic ignition.
This is one of the prettiest Series 3s we’ve seen in a while, with condition to match. It arrived in perfect time for sunnier weather.
The vendor says:
“This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cars to be produced. The hard top and colour accentuate its sleek lines. The v12 burble from the four fan exhaust is addictive. It drives like a grand tourer and a sports car. This is an original UK RHD car with a manual transmission and a hard top, with low verified mileage for its age. would advise those interested to view the car in the flesh. Then you will understand why Enzo Ferrari called it the most beautiful car ever.”

The vendor says:
“Large history file going back to 1986. The car also possesses a Jaguar heritage certificate to confirm its provenance.”
The Condition
Bare metal respray carried out in 2017 from silver to its current colour
Vendor reports paintwork retains its lustre with no signs of rust, scrapes, scuffs or dings
Underside appears solid with no telltale signs of welding, we are told
Original factory chrome hubcap wheels upgraded by the current owner
Fitted with chrome wire wheels with new Pirelli tyres since 2017
Very rare factory-fitted hardtop included with stand
Vendor describes the hard top as being in stunning condition
Period-correct four-fan-tail exhaust fitted
Black folding fabric roof in good order as shown
Black leather seats reported to be in very good condition with no rips
Black carpets reported to be in great condition
All switchgear works correctly and presents well
Fitted with classic-style digital radio and wood-rimmed steering wheel
The vendor says:
“In 2017, it had a bare metal respray from silver to its current colour. This was done only because I did not think silver accentuated the gorgeous lines of this vehicle. The lustre is still there, with no signs of rust. There are no scrapes, scuffs, or dings, and I would advise viewing before bidding again, if possible, to substantiate my claims about its appearance. Underneath appears solid, with absolutely no telltale signs of welding. The car has the period-correct four-fan tail exhaust. When I purchased the car, I upgraded the chrome hubcap wheels to top-quality chrome wheels with new tyres, which still look as new as the day they were fitted. The car comes with a very rare factory-fitted hardtop, which looks stunning.”
“The black leather seats have held up remarkably better than most, with no rips in the seats. The carpets also appear to be in great health. All the switchgear works as it should and presents very well.”
The Mechanics
5,343cc V12 engine
Four-speed manual transmission
Electronic ignition fitted for improved efficiency and reliability
Both fuel pumps have been recently replaced
Serviced regularly since 2016 and recently in August 2025
Described by the vendor as mechanically in fine fettle following its most recent service
The vendor says:
“There is a large history file of services going back to 1986. It has been regularly serviced since my ownership, with the last full service carried out in August. 2025. Mechanically, it's as good as it gets, and drives superbly. I have had electronic ignition fitted for efficiency and reliability, and recently had both fuel pumps replaced. The manual gearbox is a delight and has enough low-down power to pull from standing in 3rd gear
