Seller TonR

This Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Roadster is a handsome open-top classic British sports car, offered from long-term enthusiast ownership.

Under the bonnet sits a 5.3-litre naturally aspirated V12, driving the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.

The car was delivered new to the US before being imported into Europe, where it has resided in the Netherlands for many years.

It has been in the hands of its current owner for nearly three decades.

The odometer indicates 75,406 miles, which the seller believes to be accurate, though this is not warranted.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

This E-Type Series 3 V12 Roadster is finished in a vibrant shade of red, over a beige leather-trimmed interior, featuring a contrasting black dashboard and transmission tunnel, and chrome trim highlights.

It rides on a set of 15-inch chrome wire wheels with two-spoke knock-offs, fitted with Michelin XWX tyres.

Equipment includes Smiths gauges, a Kienzle analogue clock, dashboard rocker switches, heater and ventilation controls, and a Philips cassette stereo.

This example has been fitted with a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, a stainless steel exhaust system, and electric power steering.

The car comes with its registration documents and both original sets of keys.

CONDITION

Specific notes from the seller include: the body has been resprayed in red, which is believed to be the original colour; no replacement panels or welding are reported to have been required. The interior carpets and leather upholstery have been renewed in the original colours.

The most recent roadworthiness test was on 4 June 2023, which is understood to have resulted in a clean pass.

SERVICE HISTORY

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
