    Auction description:

    Dore & Rees - Collector's Cars, Bradford-on-Avon, UK

1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster

    Estimate £35,000 - £45,000

    Registration Number: TGC 610L

    Chassis Number: 1S1854

    Recorded Mileage: 80,100 miles

    - One family owner since the late 1990s

    - Desirable manual gearbox

    - Complete with rare factory hard top

This sound and original right-hand-drive Roadster has been in current family ownership since the late 1990s, joining a small collection of classic British sportscars. When acquired the car was finished in its current shade of British Racing Green, although we understand the Jaguar was originally delivered in a very 1970s beige tone of Green Sand. Driven lightly only in the summer months, the Jaguar has covered just 500 or so miles in the last 20 years, hence finally the family have decided the time has come for it to find a new home.

Always garage kept, as such the bodywork presents well with good shutlines and an even paint finish. The interior is nicely preserved with original black leather seats, the carpets are in good order, and a smart Moto-Lita steering wheel is fitted. A UK-delivered example from new, the Jaguar will benefit from a service and minor works ahead of being offered for sale.

All in all a sound example of what is rapidly becoming one of the more popular of the E-Type variants, and is offered complete with a rare and desirable hardtop. The Jaguar comes complete with a large history file and UK V5c document.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
