This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was acquired by the seller in 2002, reportedly following approximately a decade of storage, and it underwent a cosmetic refurbishment in 2010. The car is finished in Signal Red over beige leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, and a heater. This XKE roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The car came finished from the factory in Signal Red and was repainted in 2010, at which time the door skins were replaced, the bumpers were re-chromed, replacement weatherstripping was installed, and a black soft top was fitted.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-offs and are mounted with BFGoodrich tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats that was upholstered in beige leather with tan inserts in 2010 along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include an AM/FM radio, a locking glovebox, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists build details and an assembly date of July 2, 1969.
