For sale at Silverstone classic auction July 2015

    www.silverstoneauctions.com/1968-jaguar-e-type

    Lot 841

    Registration: JSA 396G

    Chassis Number: 1R7149

    Engine Number: 7R1323-9

    Number of cylinders: 6

    CC: 4220cc

    Year of Manufacture: 1968

    Estimate (£): 75,000 - 90,000

Offered here is a beautifully restored Jaguar E-type produced on 23 August 1968 and destined for Jaguar Cars New York, and its first owner Rosemary Rucchio. It returned to the UK in October 2014 and has been subject to an exacting restoration by our vendor, a highly regarded and experienced bodywork specialist. It was a very original and well preserved example and all the factory panels were retained. When the body was stripped to the tub it was decided to change the configuration to European specification and convert to right hand drive, a comparatively easy exercise at this stage. The fully rebuilt engine was mated to triple SU carburettors making it a UK spec car. It was painted in its original and one of the best colours for an E-type, Daimler Silver Grey. The interior and hood are the only deviation from the original black but combine to give a very special presence and a 'nod' to a contemporary look. All the other components have either been replaced or rebuilt. The brightwork has all been re-chromed. It comes complete with tools and a hide hammer, UK registration, a full MOT and a Heritage Certificate.

    Sold for (£): 94,500
