Lot #217822
This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 is a running-and-driving project that was purchased by the previous owner—a resident of Washington state—in 1973, and the car sat for many years before being acquired by the selling dealer in mid-2025. Powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission, the Jaguar is finished in gray over beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, hubcaps, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a push-button radio. The vehicle is in need of mechanical and cosmetic work before it should be considered roadworthy, the seller states. This XKE project is now offered in Oregon with a Washington title.
The car is finished in gray paint, which is faded and cracked. Exterior equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, and dual exhaust outlets. Rust is noted along the body line where the rear bumper sits. The weatherstripping is rotted around the panes of glass. The right-front indicator lamp is missing and the nearby body is dented, and another dent is found below the front-license-plate frame. These and other imperfections are pictured in the gallery below.
Silver-painted 15″ steel wheels with bright hubcaps are mounted with Sentury Touring radial tires. The front disc brakes work and the rears do not, according to the seller.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in beige leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpeting. Interior appointments include air conditioning, a push-button radio, seatbelts, and a glovebox. There are holes in the front-seat bottoms.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller states that the car starts and runs but needs mechanical attention.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential; the seller reports that the transmission can be shifted into each gear. Corrosion is evident on underbody components.
The car’s chassis number is 1R41896, whereas the 1973-issued Washington title cites as the VIN the engine number 7R375289 noted on the identification tag
