This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe was acquired by the seller in 1997, reportedly from its original owner in California. It is finished in Sable over beige leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. This XKE coupe is now offered with service records, a car cover, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Sable, and exterior equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. There is a scratch on the lower right side of the front hood.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-offs and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires measuring 185VR15. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. Polyurethane suspension bushings were installed in 2019.
The cabin features bucket seats that were reupholstered in beige leather in 2019, at which time the headliner, door panels, and window seals were replaced. Interior appointments include an AM/FM radio with an auxiliary input, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning. The air conditioning vent box was refurbished in 2024.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer was noted as being inoperative in 2019.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. Work in 2019 involved adjusting the carburetors, ignition, and timing as well as replacing the air conditioning compressor.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The exhaust mounts were replaced in 2019.
The Maryland title lists an odometer reading of 67k in October 2021.
