Beautiful 1971 all matching numbers car with complete/comprehensive engine rebuild less than 17,000 miles ago (the speedometer was set to zero by the previous owner. Car runs perfectly, everything works as it should, nothing needs to be repaired or replaced. Paint, bright work and rubber are all in excellent condition with some very dings that are hard to find. A true head turner.

This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster underwent an engine rebuild in 1992 followed by bodywork and a repaint circa 2010 before being acquired by the current owner in 2021. The car is finished in red with a black soft top over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It features a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ wire wheels along with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and a luggage rack. This XKE roadster is now offered on dealer consignment out of Iowa City, Iowa, by HARTek Automotive—a BaT Local Partner—with a duplicate Illinois title listing the car as a 1971 model.
The selling dealer states that the body was stripped, repaired, and repainted in its current red finish circa 2010. The car wears a a black soft top and top boot, and further details include a louvered clamshell hood, a luggage rack, dual exhaust outlets, and wraparound chrome bumpers.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated dash, center console, and door panels. Interior appointments include a Clarion AM/FM cassette stereo, a heater, and a sliding rear-view mirror. The sun visors are missing, and the footwells do not have carpets.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as a centrally mounted analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. The selling dealer states that total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 245 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine was bored .020″ over as part of a rebuild completed by West Michigan Imports of Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1992. The battery was replaced and the oil was changed by the selling dealer.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The selling dealer notes synchro noise when downshifting to third gear.
The Illinois title carries a “Corrected/Dup” label and notes that “This is a duplicate certificate and may be subject to the rights of a person under the original certificate.”
