    - Meticulous restoration by AV Classics of Dunstable completed in February 2017
    - Imported from USA in 2015, Heritage Certificate, Swansea V5C
    - Finished in arguably the best colour scheme

According to its accompanying Heritage Certificate this beautiful left hand drive example was manufactured on 29th December 1969 and dispatched on 24th January 1970 to distributor British Leyland New York. Finished in sable with Cinnamon interior, the original supplying dealer and owner's details are not recorded. The car was previously registered in New Jersey before being purchased for renovation by A V Classics from Jags World LLC of Miami, Florida in March 2015. Subsequently imported into the UK, with the recorded mileage declared as 44,526, a comprehensive 'nut and bolt' restoration was commenced. This was completed in February 2017 with photographs of the work appearing in a hardbound book prepared by the vendor.

Now resplendent in Gunmetal Grey with red leather interior, the car is ready to be enjoyed following some recent shakedown work and carries a current MoT expiring in April 2018. The odometer was zeroed during the restoration although the MoT would appear to record the mileage related to the previous vehicle registered under the number NJT49H which was allocated by the DVLA. Similarly the V5 document appears to record the ownership history related to the previous vehicle registered with this registration mark. A stunning E Type finished in arguably the best colour combination which retains its original engine and has been freshly restored to a high standard, it is quite simply breath-taking and worthy of the closest inspection.

This superb, matching numbers Series II E-Type Roadster was manufactured on the 29th December 1969. In January the following year it was supplied by British Leyland New York to its first owner, presenting in British Racing Green with Black soft top. Just nineteen years later, the E-Type found its way back to the UK where it was converted to RHD. Since being back on home soil, NJT 49H has had five owners and has been subject to a thorough restoration, engine rebuild, and gearbox rebuild.

The most recent owner took custody of the car in 2020 and having paid over £50, 000 for the car, then commissioned a marque specialist to carry out major work on the car costing in the region of £60, 000. The E-Type was subject of various bodywork, the rear and was converted to represent a Series One, the car then repainted in its original colour including the hard top. The engine was fully rebuilt to ‘Splined Hub‘ specification with OE parts used throughout, the gearbox was also rebuilt to the specialists' specification including new synchro rings and bearings. The fueling system was replaced with triple SU carbs. The front steering and suspension assembly were rebuilt and powder coated where necessary. The rear suspension was also subject to a full rework, reconditioning the prop shafts and new universal joints were fitted along with the brake pipes and flexi hoses being replaced. The interior was retrimmed in Black with new seat foams added. Series I style chrome wire wheels were fitted along with new Vredestein Sprint Classic tubeless tyres.

Since the major program of work, NJT 49H has covered just 1000 miles and presents as a very tidy, smart E-Type perfect for long distance touring.
