With its 4.2-litre engine, manual gearbox, and partial restoration, this example needs a little care - but with some attention, it could become a truly special E-Type.
The current owner, Lino, purchased the E-Type in January 2023, after two of his friends had brought it over from New York in 2011 - with the intent to fully restore it. Lino's friends had carried out much of the initial restorative work - replacing floor panels and some front panels.
The car was painted, albeit not professionally, and they converted it to right-hand drive, stripping the car to its shell to do so. Unfortunately one of Lino's friends who worked on the car passed away, and it was too much work to finish the car off fully.
Lino then purchased the car in 2023, along with all the additional parts and components his friend held. The intention here was to put everything back together and use the car rather than it being sat in a garage.
Since its return to the UK, new brake hoses and pipes were fitted in September 2011, the brake master cylinder was updated in November 2011, a stainless steel exhaust system installed in February 2012 and the starter motor was also replaced.
The E-Type is complete with its original owner’s handbook, Jaguar folio, heritage certificate and a range of spare components.
We cover the history of the Jaguar and the spare items included in the final sale, in our paperwork gallery - take a look over the invoices for parts to see more behind the E-Type.
We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.
