This car was restored approximately 10 to 15 years ago and then placed in storage. I have recently drained the fuel tank, replaced the items listed above and now the car runs and drives. There are a couple things left to do on the car. Stereo needs updating. Blinkers don't want to flash. Title states actual miles 52xxx. Floors are solid and the car shows no rust issues. Paint is driver quality. Chrome and stainless show nicely but are not show quality.

1967 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 Coupe-'The Splined Hub' total rebuild For Sale

A remarkable example subjected to a nut & bolt re-build by ‘The Splined Hub’ in 2020. Offered in almost ‘as new’ condition with a fully re-built engine & gearbox and new wiring harness. It is easier to state that I can’t find an item on the car that hasn’t either been replaced or re-furbished to the highest of standards, please see more information below. The original odometer is present in perfect working order showing 58, 625 miles, I have advertised the car as having covered 5929 miles since it's re-build as this can be verified.
It’s previous owner found it to be totally reliable in the 6, 000 miles it has covered since restoration, with regular local use and numerous European road trips to Le-Mans and a long tour of the Dordogne region amongst others.
Re-finished in Opalescent Gunmetal to an incredible standard with the interior being re-trimmed in Mulberry leather with a matching carpet set.
Built to be driven, with a focus on reliability and ease of use without unnecessary modifications. For driver comfort a Series ‘1 & 1/ 2’ Coupe 2+2 was the obvious model of choice thanks to its wider and taller cabin and generous load area for luggage. A select amount of alterations have been made to aid usability and improve driving dynamics.
Mechanical alterations are limited to a 4 speed overdrive box replacing the original automatic, the US spec emissions controls have been removed in favor of a Stromberg twin carb set up and 15” genuine Dunlop light road wheels have been fitted wrapped with Dunlop SP Sport tyres.
Inside, reclining and very comfortable MX5 seats have been fitted on runners, a modern ‘Classic Car Stereo’ CR017 has been fitted with allowing bluetooth telephone connection and a DAB radio and a 12v socket was added.
Restoration information:
A solid LHD donor car was sourced from California, arriving into the UK in January 2017. It was stripped to the bare shell before being ‘Phos-Strip’ dipped revealing no structural corrosion and only minimal areas that needed attending to. It was then etch primered before being prepped and sealed ahead of the re-paint. Full RHD conversion kit by Hutson Motor Company.
Panels replaced were the outer sills, outer bulkhead, boot floor, rear closing panel, stiffeners and door skins amongst more.
Almost all mechanical items that were not replaced with new items were refurbished by being shot/ vapor blasted, then powder coated, re-chromed or zinc plated.
All wearable items have been replaced notably the brake calipers/ discs/ pads/ pipes, clutch & slave cylinder, shock absorbers & road springs, fan upgrade with new motor etc. etc.
Condition & History:
A heritage certificate is present confirming its build date to be the 2nd November 1967, leaving the factory in Cream over black with an automatic transmission. It also states that the chassis and engine number are inline with production records and its destination/ dealer to be Jaguar Cars of New York, USA.
A letter from the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club evidences the proof of age & origin allowing it to bear an age-related registration number.
Upon importation, all relevant duties are confirmed to be paid along with NOVA submissions and registration confirmation. A current V5 is present showing one keeper since its registration on 01/ 11/ 2019.
A well documented breakdown of works carried out, parts used and costings is with the documentation file.
Due to such a recent total re-fresh and light use since, maintenance is limited to running in oil replacement and shakedown inspections. Bar a handful of small blemishes, you will struggle to find fault anywhere on the vehicle.
Asking price £119,995
