    Description:
    Manufacturer Jaguar Cars
    Model E-Type S1 4.2 2+2
    First Registered 1966
    Registration No NPG858D
    Engine No 7E516359
    Chassis No 1E50267
    MOT May 2011
    Colour Carmen Red

Offered here is an early 4.2 2+2, which is said to have been the subject of comprehensive restoration. The major work was carried out by J & G Classics but the engine rebuild was carried out by VSE in Wales. The car also has a new gearbox, new chrome wires and has been repainted in the original factory colour of Carmen red. Some areas of the car have been left in original condition, such as the black leather seats, which are in good order. Recent works include an engine tune and the car is now said to drive superbly.

The car has been in the vendors ownership for 14 years and they have spent well over £20, 000 on the car in the recent past.

The vendor is sure that a new owner will be very pleased with this E-type and with an MoT through to May 2011 and current, free, road tax, it could, subject to insurance, be driven home from the sale.

    Estimate £22,500-27,500

The book "Fifty Years Of A Design Icon" on page 21 has a photograph of a page of Jaguar Cars Car Record Book. That page shows 1E50267. It records the first owner as Major Smith Esq., 5 Brecon Close, Swindon, Wilts

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
