This Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe was manufactured on 4 November and dispatched to Jaguar Cars, New York on 19 November 1965. The first owner was Earl Tunison from Pierre, South Dakota. The E Type was imported into Finland and registered here in June 1989. The car was used regularly during the summer months around Helsinki by its first Finnish owner. The current owners purchased it in January 2014 with the plan to restore it for use as their wedding car.
A comprehensive restoration was carried out by Grips Garage from 2014 to 2016, including refurbishment of the well preserved body, full respray to Opalescent Maroon, new interior and a complete rebuild of the matching numbers engine with new parts as required. There are receipts and photos of the restoration. The car has been driven every summer and has been regularly maintained by Grips Garage.
In Autumn 2025 the rear axle was rebuilt, the brakes and carburettors overhauled and the car underwent major refurbishment including a full service of the steering and powertrain. This E Type is registered as a historic vehicle and has an inspection certificate valid to September 2029.
