E-TYPE Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe in a sensational color combination – Fully restored – Matching Numbers

This E-TYPE was built in December 1964 at Jaguar in Coventry and delivered to California, USA.

A favorable climate has given the car a good life, providing an excellent basis for a complete restoration in 2012-2013. The E-Type was completely disassembled, including the body, all mechanical components, and the interior.

The owner's collection was missing an E-TYPE Series 1. Due to his height, driving a Series 1 E-TYPE would normally be impossible, but his desire to own and drive one extensively was so strong that during the body restoration, the bulkhead behind the seats was precisely and cleverly moved slightly rearward, allowing the seats to be positioned further back. Job successfully completed, the dream fulfilled.

The exterior color black with a red interior was chosen, a correct and factory-available combination for the E-TYPE.

From 2013 to 2025, the E-TYPE was driven regularly and extensively and meticulously maintained, regardless of cost. The result is an automotive dream, even for the taller E-TYPE enthusiast.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
