This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was built and dispatched to Jaguar Cars of New York in March 1967. Chassis 1E15021 underwent a repaint and was fitted with a replacement 4.2-liter inline-six by Vantage Sports Cars of Orlando, Florida, in January 1993 and was later acquired by the seller in November 2017. It was subsequently stripped and repainted in its factory Opalescent Silver Blue finish as part of a refurbishment project completed from July 2024 to October 2025 that also involved suspension, brake, electrical, and other mechanical work. The car has been retrofitted with enclosed headlights and wears a black soft top over dark blue leather upholstery. It rides on 15″ wire-spoke wheels coupled with GAZ adjustable shocks at all four corners, and shifting is through a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. Further details include a 15″ wood-rimmed steering wheel and a digital media receiver along with triple SU carburetors and a stainless-steel exhaust system with headers. This XKE roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, service records, a tool kit, and a clean Louisiana title in the seller’s name.
This E-Type left the factory in March 1967 finished in Opalescent Silver Blue as a transitional Series 1 car specified with uncovered headlights. Records indicate that it underwent front-end work around the time of the aforementioned 1993 repaint. Work under current ownership in 2024 and 2025 involved stripping the body to bare metal and repainting the car in its factory shade of Opalescent Silver Blue as well as installing covered headlamps using a conversion kit from Monocoque Metalworks.
The car features a louvered clamshell hood and wears a replacement black soft top with a color-coordinated top boot. Further details include fender-mounted mirrors, triple windshield wipers, and wraparound chrome bumpers. The seller notes a dent at the bottom of the driver’s door as well as tears in the soft top that have been patched with RV sealant tape.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and mounted with 205/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. Work in 2024 and 2025 involved installing GAZ adjustable shocks and rebuilding the right-rear brake caliper as well as installing braided brake hoses and replacing the tie rods, front ball joints, and brake pads.
The cabin houses bucket seats that were re-trimmed in blue leather circa 1992. Work following the seller’s acquisition in 2017 has involved performing rust repair below the passenger’s seat, changing the carpets, adding various replacement vinyl trim pieces, refurbishing the door panels, treating the seat leather, and adding LED interior lighting. Appointments include a sliding rearview mirror, a heater, and a retrofitted digital media receiver.
The 15″ wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer cable was repaired in 1983, and the clock was rebuilt under current ownership in 2018. True mileage is unknown.
Installed by Vantage Sports Cars in January 1993, the replacement 4.2-liter inline-six breathes through triple SU carburetors. Stainless-steel headers and exhaust piping were added by the seller along with an internally regulated alternator, an electric radiator fan, and an electric fuel pump. The seller tells us that rust was repaired below the battery at the time of the repaint, and additional recent work has involved replacement of the the water pump in addition to the gaskets for the camshaft covers and oil pan.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch master cylinder was replaced under current ownership in 2017. Work in 2024 and 2025 involved rebuilding the transmission, resurfacing the flywheel, changing the clutch disc, and replacing the clutch slave cylinder. The seller notes leaks from the engine oil and transmission fluid drain plugs.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
A tool kit and hammer are stored in the trunk along with a spare 15″ wire wheel mounted with a Vredestein tire.
