Car offered at:
pendine.com/cars-for-sale/1965-jaguar-e-type-series-1-4-2-roadster/
Supplied via Henleys London in June 1965, chassis 1E 1283 was delivered new in Primrose Yellow over Black. Two historic green logbooks confirm that the E Type lived initially in the Central London area, before the Midlands by the 1970s.
By the early 1990s, it was bought by Henry Pearman of Eagle Racing, who sold it to the founder and then Chairman of Classic Motor Cars (CMC) of Bridgnorth for £14,500 as a restoration project. CMC completed a full restoration of the car, and was then used as a demonstrator for their work. CMC finished it in Opalescent Dark Green over Suede Green trim, probably the most desirable of E Type colour combinations.
About twenty years ago, Peter gifted the car to his brother as a 50th birthday present, and it became his pride and joy. He used it regularly and enthusiastically, the car and owner becoming well-known within the historic Jaguar community. The E Type has always been maintained by CMC and is in very good condition today. It comes complete with a factory hard top, and three extensive history files documenting its life, restoration and event attendance.
Upgrades from standard include a twin radiator fan for cooling, chromed Competition Wire Wheels, uprated alternator, electronic ignition and CMC specification front torsion bars with a heavy duty front anti roll bar. Also included is an indoor cover, and the hood frame has been modified for a wind deflector. A fully matching numbers, Home Market Roadster that was restored to the highest standards by one of the world’s leading specialists. What more could you ask for?
Available now for viewing and demonstration at Pendine’s Bicester Motion showroom.
Price – £139,500
