Current bid $7,100 reserve not met, 10 bids 9 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
This 1963 3.8 coupe is one of the most desirable E-types. This car has been in dry storage for over 25 years and the engine was fully rebuilt with a cost of over $8,000. The car's original color was black with red leather interior. It was changed to maroon at some point in it's life. The car is pretty much complete. It is missing the tools and the jack. The engine and gearbox is out of the car and is in one piece. I will place the engine in the engine bay for ease of shipping. As far as the body is concerned the area where the spare tire goes is in real nice dry condition. Where the bonnet hinges is also nice and dry. The footwells will need to be replaced. I have purchased new Martin Robey footwells that will go with the car. One side of the passenger side sill is going to need some work, but does not need to be replaced. All in all this an excellent candidate for restoration. Some of the big work has been done as you can see in the drive train. The numbers on the ID tag are car number 888409, body number V5561, gearbox number is EB6942JS, engine number R9833-9. The original engine is lost, but the rebuilt engine number is RA7502-9 and the date on the block of the engine says 09/06/64.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
