Ebay item 3/17/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XKE-Roadster-63-XKE-Roadster-Newly-Refinished_W0Q ...
Current bid $10,000 reserve not met, 1 bid, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This car was recently refinished last summer and has only been driven about 410 miles since. I wanted to take photos of this car in the sun however we haven’t seen too many of those lately here in N.E. Ohio. A few photos are from last summer (if the grass is green.....)

This car originally came from S. Carolina. The color is original to Jag, a beautiful Silver/Bronze with red leather interior. The top is new, black cloth with a black boot accented with red piping.

This car sports too many new components to list, but amongst them are:

NEW
Aluminum Radiator
Water Pump
Generator
Regulator
Leather Interior
Top & Boot
Dayton Wire Wheels (slightly wider to accept modern radial tires)
Dunlop Radials
Windshield
Door Glass
Many new chrome components (parking & tail lights, headlight rings etc.)
Exhaust
Steering wheel
Rear carrier bearings
Rear IRS bearings, bushings & mounts
Trunk lid
Fuel filler door
Fuel sending unit
Complete body rubber kit
Windshield wiper motor

REBUILT ITEMS
Re-sleeved brake master
Re-sleeved calipers
Re-sleeved clutch master
Re-built clutch slave
Re-built carbs
Instrument cluster
Speedo

This car starts & stops beautifully and handles exceptionally well. With the new aluminum radiator and elect fan, it stays cool even on the hottest days. Although the paint is new, it is not concours. The engine compartment could use detailing. I do have polished cam covers and new chrome nuts that will go with the car (if you feel ambitious on a rainy day).

Now the flaws. I never installed or re-cored the heater box, but it does go with the car. The speedo was rebuilt and shows under 7k miles. I believe the actual mileage to be somewhere around 60k. The tac sticks from time to time and the radio doesn’t work.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
