    www.bramsclassiccars.com/en/cars/jaguar-e-type-4-2l-1968

This Jaguar E Type was restored by Bram's Classic Cars. This E Type with its original engine is an early series 2 from 1968. The roadster was shipped to the Netherlands in 1971. The original colour of this car was Primrose Yellow however it was red when restoration started. The car has been restored back to its original condition.

It is a complete nut and bolt restoration. The project was started by the previous owner but due to illness he couldn't complete the restoration. When bought the body was already restored by the previous owner, this was done professionally by skilled people. Rusted panels, like the floor wells were replaced and welded in place. The seams were treated to prevent water inclusion.

The original matching numbers engine has been completely overhauled. The cylinders were re-bored, piston rings replaced, all bearings replaced, new oil pump, new water pump, new alternator and new starter motor. The transmission was checked and worn parts replaced. The clutch was renewed. The block is painted black and the valve cover is powder coated in black. The two Zenith Stromberg carburettors were restored and the ignition converted to electronic ignition.

Rear suspension: new shocks and springs, all bearings replaced, disc brakes and brake pistons replaced.

Front suspension: all rubbers replaced, bearing replaced, parts powder coated, new brake callipers and discs, steering rack revised.

    Radiator block revised and improved.

Brake systems completely overhauled including servo, master and brake cylinders and Cunifer brake lines.

    New wiring harness.

    Heater revised.

    New windscreen and side windows.

    All chrome re-chromed or new.

    Bonnet completely rebuilt.

    New lights.

Interior completely renewed in high quality black leather.

Hood replaced with new Sonnetland hood

Car comes with Dutch license plates and registration. It is MoT checked. Driven 120 miles to assure reliability.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
