Lot #120363

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 was purchased new by the current owner from Oxford Motors in Sacramento, California and has since been registered in the state. It is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a stainless-steel exhaust system, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, and a Jaguar-branded AM/FM radio. The car was repainted in metallic red in 2022, and work performed since 2018 has consisted of a valve adjustment and tune-up, along with re-covering the dash and replacing the cylinder head gasket, oil pressure sending unit, battery, and tires. This Series II XKE is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with an operator’s handbook, a data card, registration slips dating back to 1969, partial service records, a tool kit, replacement interior upholstery, literature, and a clean California title.

The car was finished from the factory in Regency Red and was repainted with metal flake added in 2022. Exterior details include a louvered hood, a driver’s mirror, pop-out rear quarter panel windows, chrome-finished bumpers with overriders, and quad exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes imperfections on various body panels.

Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured by knock-off spinners and are mounted with 185-series Coker Classic redline tires that were installed in 2022. A matching spare is stored in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes and the brake master cylinder fluid reservoir floats were replaced in preparation for the sale.

The front bucket seats were re-trimmed in black leather upholstery some time ago, while the dash was re-covered in 2021. Appointments include air conditioning, wind-up windows, a center console, and a Jaguar-branded AM/FM stereo linked to speakers mounted on each side of the center stack.

The three-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket lace-up cover and sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a replacement 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer. An analog clock and auxiliary gauges are mounted atop the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and finned valve covers. The cylinder head gasket was replaced in 2018, the battery was replaced in 2022, and the oil pressure sending unit was replaced in preparation for the sale.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. A stainless-steel exhaust system has been installed.

A set of replacement interior upholstery and spare foam seat bottom padding are included in the sale, along with an operator’s handbook, a metal data card, a hand-written letter from the original sales person, registration slips dating back to 1969, partial service records, a tool kit and bag, and various magazines.

The car is titled as J691R41090BW, which incorporates the car number shown above prepended with a “J69.”
