Jaguar E Type 4.2, 2+2, series 1.5, 1968, VIN - 1E78554. Number matching car with Jaguar Heritage Certificate. This car was recently brought to the UK from California where it has lived all its life. All import taxes paid, comes with HMRC NOVA certificate for registering at the DVLA once the car has a MoT.
These matching number E Types are getting harder to come across, their values are ever increasing and they are becoming ever more collectable, they will soon be out of reach of most peoples price. When fully restored this matching number E Type will be worth towards six figures and as an investment will only increase in value.
This particular E Type has lived in California all its life and we believe it was in use up to the early eighties when it was parked up and left untouched until recently. The build date was 29 April 1968 and when it left the factory was originally beige with a light tan interior. At some point it was painted brown, it is not rust, just old brown paint and over the years the leather tan has deteriorated while it has been stored.
The engine manually turns over freely, the front of the bonnet has had a poor filler repair but it is a very solid bonnet, this car is a mostly solid car but the front floor pans need attention or changing as does the boot floor and obviously the interior needs to be completely done. The pictures tell the story of the overall condition of the car, we have not tried to mention everything the car needs, it is a 50 year old car in need of work, what you see is what you get.
