Ebay item 8/11/06

Current bid $14,500 reserve not met, 11 bids, 5 days left in auction. 63k miles.

Sellers description:
1966 Jaguar E-Type. The car was originally built on April 14th, 1966 and shipped to Jaguar USA in New York. The car had a factory moon roof installed (I believe the company was called American Sunroof) before being shipped to a dealer in California. The car was completely restored in the spring of 1994. The car is painted bright Carman Red and is in very good condition. There is a small scratch on the passenger door near the window and there are 2 small bubbles on the rear trunk door.

The engine was gone through and rebuilt at the same time. The engine block is from a 1969 Jaguar. Car has brand new Michelin tires and chrome Dayton wire wheels with knock offs. The car is in excellent shape! I had the brake lines replaced in 2003.

Interior was completely restored with new leather seats, headliner, carpeting, and dash pad. Interior is in excellent condition, with no rips or tears. I have only put approximately 2,000 miles on the car since its restoration.

The glass is in very good shape, no cracks or chips. The side windows do have a few minor scratches.

I have won a number of awards including 1st place at the Jaguar Concours De Elegance and has also been show at Eyes on Design (Gorden Bueherg Award) and Meadow Brook Concours De Elegance.

The car runs and drives beautifully. I hate to sell it. I have owned the car for 14 years and my wife has a hard time getting in and out, and it is time to buy something she can also enjoy.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
