Ebay item 5/28/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MUST-SELL-1966-Jaguar-E-type-XKE-FHC-Coupe-4-2L-6-cyl-Se ...
Car has a buy it now price of $69,500 for 5 days.
Sellers description:
Great coupe that's just been thoroughly sorted by it's owner, my English-car mechanic, Tony. Now Tony is going back to the UK and has asked me to find a new home for his baby.
We know the history of this car going back approximately 25 years, when my other English-car specialist Ned went to Virginia to inspect and bring it home for a local customer. I purchased it from that owner's estate approximately a year ago and sold it to Tony, who'd been looking for a solid example to restore for himself.
Kitted-out in fresh paint, fresh interior, fresh wheels, new tires and fresh rubber seals all around, you won't get a better deal on a 4.2 liter 6 cyllinder Series 1 coupe than this. It's been well sorted mechanically, so it starts and runs super-strong with no overheating problems. It's a solid driver with no shimy or pulling and feels very good in traffic or at speed. it just needs a couple of finishing touches to complete what Tony started and it will be a real show stopper.
What this E-type needs:
Tony fit new rubber gaskets around all three doors and the bonnet. The rubber is still quite stiff. The gaskets may need to be refit or they might just need "breaking in time" so that they soften up. The fitment of the doors is good, but they don't close easily.
The new leather interior is for the most part excellent, but there are a couple of trim pieces, the a-pillars and the edges just inside the two smaller side windows, which need to be refitted.

Registration: HOV115D
Chassis Number: 1E32818
Engine Number: 7E8722-9
Number of cylinders: 6
CC: 4200cc
Year of Manufacture: 1966
Estimate (£): 50,000 - 55,000
An original Heritage Certificate shows this left-hand drive Series I 4.2 Fixedhead Coupe was manufactured on 5th April 1966 and originally registered in Coventry, UK to a Mr A. Roberts under the personal export scheme. Originally finished in cream with a red leather interior, it was supplied by Henley's London and spent the majority of its life in the USA. It was restored in 2012 and returned to the UK 2013 and re registered as HOV 115D.
This fully matching number car is now finished in white with red interior, having had a complete body re-spray and new red leather interior fitted. The bodywork is presented in lovely order, with good shut lines and a consistent paint throughout. The interior looks superb in red and the engine bay is very clean and presentable. Mechanically the engine boasts good oil pressure and pulls well. It has recently had a full check over and comes with an MoT until Nov 2014. A fine example, it is supplied with a number of invoices relating to the restoration work and a UK V5C logbook. The Series I 4.2 Fixedhead Coupe is seen by many as the most desirable E-Type to own and use, with the reliable 4.2 powerplant and purest of body lines. This example is an ideal first classic for the discerning enthusiast.

Restored a decade ago while it was still in the United States, it is now finished in Old English White rather than the Cream it left the factory in. However, it does retain its red interior, albeit largely new and restored.
