Someone attempted to update/change the info on this car. They are attempting to change the year from 1966 to 1969, the body number from 4E24121 to 4R-35287, the engine number from 7E 8607-9 to 7R-35258-9, the gearbox number from EJ 7698 (manual gearbox) to 29118 (automatic gearbox), the build date from 03/24/1966 to 10/23/1968, original (as built) car color from black to willow green, from a scruffy driver to a nice driver, the current color from opalescent maroon to green, and finally the current gearbox from original to a manual conversion.

First this is a S1 FHC according to the chassis number so all of that date stuff to a S2 car is just wrong. Second the car by the car number is a S1 FHC which NEVER had anautomatics fitted since they WOULD NOT FIT!!!

Because of all of this I am not approving the data change to the car entry.

The current displayed data appears to be the correct numbers in all catagories. All within close tollerances of each preceeding and successive entries on my spreadsheet at www.jaguarlinks.com. Good call Steve.

Can't imagine why StevenD has his knickers in a twist. There must be some computer glitch as the data he's contesting is for my second car. I probably did something wrong entering them both at the same time. Didn't both posts appear at the same time from the same E-mail address? Sheesh

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?:
