    Sellers description:
1966 XKE out of dry storage for last 25 years. Originally from California - desirable 4.2 Series 1 E-Type. No rust visible in inner sills, outer sills, floors, etc. Trunk floor has rust hole size of quarter in lowest point. Car is not running but turns over.

Stored in dry heated garage in Connecticut and is available for inspection by appointment. Phone 203-650-3774 to schedule to see car. Car # 1E12593, Body #4E4111, Head # 7E7956-9, Gearbox #EJ7132.

Why am I selling? I just finished a complete restoration of a 1953 XK120 SE and don't have the time to restore another car... This car is complete and is a great candidate for full restoration.

Current bid $15,251 reserve not met, 12 bids, 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
Unrestored 1966 XKE Roadster. Very solid condition. I purchased this car from a friend who had it in storage for 20 years. I just finished a 4 year restoration of an XK120 Roadster and don't have it in me to do another restoration. This is a matching numbers car. I have owned it for 2 years and cleaned the old gas out of the system, installed a new electric fuel pump, filters, etc, but did not get it running yet. It turns over. Great Series 1, 4.2 Litre car. Since restoring an XKE in 1980, I remember that rot is a major problem. This car is rock solid with rust visible only in bottom of trunk a hole the size of a quarter. Inner and outer sills and floor boards are solid. This car was previously listed and withdrawn because several bidders wanted to know if the engine was original. I had a the engine number verified as original.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
