car entered at H&H Classic Auctions Ltd Buxton. 27th Jly 2005 estimate £58,000-£65,000. Reg # 2790 WK
Car not sold.
Here is a description:
Based around a new body tub fabricated by recognised specialists Zelia Engineering, its aluminium doors, frames, hardtop, boot and bonnet are all reportedly to correct specification. Thus, the latter 'long distance' panel carries an aerodynamic lighting kit. Extensively re-worked, its 3.8 litre DOHC straight-six engine breathes via triple Weber 45 DCOE carburettors. Benefiting from a dry-sump lubrication system, alloy radiator / header tank and alloy racing fuel cell / pump (with composite boot floor), it is reputed to develop 360bhp. Attached to a specially strengthened subframe, the front suspension (many components of which have been nickel plated) has been uprated with 'American' type torsion bars, bushes and floating / vented disc brakes. Utilising discs at the rear too, together with all-round adjustable shock absorbers, this much modified E-type rides on peg-drive Dunlop alloy wheels shod with Pirelli tyres. Sporting a roll cage, four-speed manual gearbox and full harnesses to the interior, its lightweight seats are nonetheless trimmed in blue leather. Finished in an evocative shade of silver frost, this magnificent high-powered Jaguar remains capable of road use. As such, we have been informed that it will be submitted for a new MOT prior to sale. Offered at what must be a fraction of its build cost, this is arguably one of the most exciting cars in today's sale.

*STRANGE* The same factory chassis ser. number just sold at RM Auction Monterey, 2013 as a 1967 OTS. however, this number seems low in series production to be a 1967. price $253,000.00 USD.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
