This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car was purchased by the prior owner in 1984 and spent decades in Pennsylvania before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2023. The car is finished in red over black leather, and features include a black soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. This Series III E-Type is now offered by the selling dealer with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, service records, tools, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in Regency Red and features a black soft top, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, US-spec bumpers, and a power antenna.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with Dunlop Elite Seventy thin-whitewall tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include an AM/FM radio, wind-up windows, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock is mounted in the center stack along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles, approximately 40 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in November 2023 included replacing the battery and fuel pump as well as repairing the exhaust system and changing the oil.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors, identification numbers, and a production date of June 11, 1974.
