Car to be at auction 6/13
historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2013-06-01/car/1973-jaguar-e-type-v12-roadster.a ...

Auction description:
1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster
Registration YYY 679M
Chassis Number UE1S26105BW
Engine Number 7517167LB
Estimate £26,000 - £30,000

On offer today is an example of the final version of the Jaguar E-Type, the Series III which is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grill and flared wheel arches. Manufactured as a convertible, it is fitted with the 5.3 litre V12 configured non fuel injected engine. This power plant is legendary for its quiet and silky smooth operation. Drive is via a three speed Borg Warner 12 automatic gearbox and is known for its durability. 85% of all E-Types were exported with this particular car going to the United States in 1974 in left hand drive form. Repatriatedback into the UK in 2004, this Jaguar E-Type is UK registered and currently holds a valid MoT test certificate. There is a large history file of invoices for many thousands of dollars during its life in the USA. Recent works include a new battery, fuel pump, ball joints, various bushes, gaskets and the removal of the US specification over-riders and conversion to UK specification bumpers. A Jaguar Series 3 V12 E-Type, Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook and a Repair Operation Manual accompany the car.

Looking handsome in its black coachwork and tan trim, this particular E-Type displays very good panel gaps with the paintwork displaying well with only a few minor blemishes only visible on close inspection. The interior is fully serviceable with no rips or tears evident to the trim. The hood is in good order with only one minor tear towards the lower forward part on the driver's side, believed to be an easy repair. In summary; this is a handsome open top V12 E-Type being offered with a very tempting estimate. An opportunity, surely, to enter ownership of an iconic motor car at a realistic price.
