Purchased by me with less than 7000 original miles. I have spoken with first owner (now in his 70s) who purchased car from Delia Jaguar in Greenwich CT in late 74; he verified extremely low mileage; he sold it to a car enthusiast friend in 2004 who kept it less than 2 years and then I purchased it in late 2005. Car is impeccable but I did have Bassett Jaguar in Rhode Island do a BRG repaint due to spider cracking in original paint, replaced interior due to age, replaced wire wheels due to some modest spoke hole rust, added JT5 5-speed (straight bolt-in/no mods), and removed the large overriders substituting early series II all-chrome variety (but kept original tranny and all other removed original parts) so it can be put back if desired. Original tools and spare still has original tire sticker on it, etc. So "concours condition", in my opinion, but mods above would disqualify it in that class. Applying for Heritage Cert now. Love this car!

YAZTEC AUTOMOTIVE IS PROUD TO OFFER THIS 3 OWNER AND TOTALLY RUST-FREE 1974 JAGUAR XKE CONVERTIBLE FOR SALE. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 10,153 MILES. WE HAVE THE ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE WHICH IS A DUNLOP SP SPORT-DUNLAP FORMULA 70 WITH THE ORIGINAL PAPER STICKER STILL ATTACHED. ALSO, WE HAVE THE ORIGINAL JACK, AND ORIGINAL TOOLS (SEE PHOTO). THIS JAGUAR HAS THE MATCHING V-12 ENGINE. THE ORIGINAL OWNER SOLD THE CAR IN 2005. THE NEXT TWO OWNERS SPENT OVER $50,000.00 TO RESTORE, RECONDITION AND UPGRADE THE CAR. UNFORTUNATELY, THE CAR GOT INVOLVED IN A FREAK INCIDENT AND SUFFERED SOME DAMAGES. THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BELOW WAS SUPPLIED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. WE HAVE NO RESTORATION DOCUMENTS EXCEPT AN OLD BILL OF SALE SHOWING THE ACTUAL MILEAGE SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK ABOUT IT.

HERE IS THE BRIEF HISTORY:
OWNER#1:

THE FIRST OWNER PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN RYE, NEW YORK. HE DROVE THE CAR OCCASIONALLY AND KEPT IT COVERED IN A CARPORT. IN 2005, HE OFFERED THE CAR FOR SALE WITH ONLY 4,582 MILES ( WE HAVE AN OFFICIAL COPY OF AN OLD BILL OF SALE INDICATING THE MILEAGE).

OWNER#2:
A GENTLEMAN FROM CONNECTICUT PURCHASED THE CAR ON JANUARY 21, 2005. THE CAR STILL LOOKED GREAT BUT THE ORIGINAL LACQUER PAINT STARTED TO SHOW ITS AGE AND SOME OF THE MECHANICAL COMPONENTS SUCH AS THE FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION, COOLING SYSTEM, A/C, ETC. NEEDED HELP FOR JUST BEING PARKED FOR SO LONG. HE HAD THE ENGINE PULLED OUT TO BE RESEALD, COMPLETELY REBUILT THE SUSPENSION COMPONENTS, REAR END, BRAKES, FRONT END, REAR END, COOLING SYSTEM, A/C. ETC. FINALLY, THE CAR WAS STRIPPED AND PAINTED AND RE-ASSEMBLED. ONCE THE WORK WAS DONE, THE OWNER DROVE THE CAR COUPLE OF THOUSAND MILES AND THEN IT WAS OFFERED FOR SALE.

OWNER#3:
A GENTLEMAN FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA PURCHASED THE CAR IN NOVEMBER 6, 2005 WITH ALMOST THE SAME MILEAGE AS WHEN THE SECOND OWNER HAD PURCHASED THE CAR SINCE IT WAS UNDER RESTORATION AND NOT DRIVEN. HE HAD THE INETERIOR COMPLETELY REDONE. ALSO, HE REPLACED THE ORIGINAL 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH A FIVE SPEED MEDATRONIC JT 5 TRANSMISSION KIT OFFERED BY "XK'S UNLIMITED" AT A COST OVER $6,000.00. THIS KIT REPLACES THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION AND THE DRIVESHAFT WITHOUT ANY ALTERATIONS TO THE BODY.

NOW THE TRAGEDY, IN 2010, AS THE CAR WAS LOADED ON A TRAILER TO HEAD FOR THE MUFFLER SHOP, ONE OF THE STRAPS CAME LOOSE AND CAUSED A CHAIN REACTION AND THE JAGUAR ROLLED BACKWARDS OFF THE TRAILER. FORTUNATELY ( IF YOU CAN THINK THAT WAY), THE TRAILER HAD JUST TOOK OFF AND THE SPEED WAS UNDER 10 MPH. AS THE CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS, THE RIGHT REAR LOWER CORNER GOT DAMAGED. ALSO, THE CAR TURNED 90 DEGREE TO THE RIGHT AND THE RIGHT FRONT CORNER OF THE BONNETT COLLIDED WITH A GUARD RAIL AND GOT DAMAGED. SOME OF THE DAMAGES TO THE REAR PART IS PARTIALLY REPAIRED. THE UNDER-CARRIAGE IS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE ENGINE FRAME SUFFERED MINOR DAMAGES ON THE RIGHT CORNER AND IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED (SEE PHOTOS)THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS NOT MOUNTED ON THE CAR SO IT WAS SAVED. PLEASE SEE THE PHOTOS OF THE LEATHER SEATS, THEIR FRAME, DASH, ENGINE COMPARTMENT, UNDER-CARRIAGE,ETC. TO EVALUATE THE QUALITY OF THE PREVIOUS RESTORATION. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO INSURANCE COVERAGE ON THE CAR. THEREFORE, THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A SHOP FOR A LONG TIME.

THE GREEN JAGUAR HAS SUFFERED SOME DAMAGES. IT REQUIRES BODY WORK, PAINT, AND SOME ASSEMBLY. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CAR RAN AND DROVE PERFECT BEFORE THE ACCIDENT. THERE ARE NO SIGNS THAT THERE ARE ANY VISIBLE MECHANICAL DAMAGES TO THE CAR. THE PREVIOUS OWNER INDICATED THAT HIS MECHANIC PICKLED THE ENGINE BY POURING MARVEL MYSTERY OIL THROUGH THE SPARK PLUG OPENINGS FOR LONG STIORAGE. WE HAVE NOT HEARD THE ENGINE RUN. THIS JAGUAR MAY BE MISSING SOME PARTS OR MAY REQUIRE SOME MECHANICAL REPAIRS LIKE HOOKING UP THE BRAKE SYSTEM, ETC. THEREFORE, THIS VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD "AS IS" AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO INSPECT AND EVALUATE THIS VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE "AUCTION END". NO POST-SALE INSPECTION IS ALLOWED!

THIS CAR WILL BE SOLD WITH A BILL OF SALE AND A "CURRENT GEORGIA REGISTRATION" WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ODOMETER READING IS THE ACTUAL MILEAGE FOR THE CAR. HOWEVER, IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA ALL VEHICLES THAT ARE 10 YEARS AND OLDER ARE SOLD WITH MILES "EXEMPT". THIS VEHICLE DOES "NOT" HAVE A SALVAGE HISTORY.
