Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale August 16th- 18th, 2012 at Russo and Steele's 12th Annual Monterey California Auction.
This 1974 Jaguar XKE is an original 33,000 mile car that was professionally repainted due to scratch vandalism. The car has never required body work and remains with very straight body lines. A new top was installed to be compatible with the new exterior paint. It is an excellent example of this timeless Jaguar sports car design. The car comes with import and dealer papers, owners manuals and handouts, 38 years of maintenance records that trace the mileage as well as show the care the car has had, original jacking kit, and a spoke wheel spare tire. The car has A/C and stereo radio.

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in British Racing Green over Biscuit leather, and features include a tan soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, air conditioning, wood interior trim, and an AM/FM radio. The current owner acquired the car in 2012. The tires, air filters, and sun visors were replaced in preparation for the sale. This E-Type is now offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, recent service records, and a clean Oregon title.
The car was repainted in British Racing Green prior to 2012 and the tan soft top was replaced. Features include a matching top boot, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, quadruple exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The seller notes chips in the paint and that the windshield washers are inoperable.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 215/70 Coker Classic whitewall tires that were installed after the accompanying image gallery was photographed. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in Biscuit leather as well as color-coordinated door panels and a center armrest. Interior amenities include air conditioning, a British Leyland–branded AM/FM radio, a passenger-side grab handle, a locking glovebox, a wood shift knob, brown carpeting, and tan floor mats. The sun visors and the door-lock cylinders were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for battery voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are stationed in the wood-trimmed center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 net horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. The air cleaners were replaced in September 2025.
Power is directed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The underside was subjected to dry-ice cleaning in September 2025.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors, identification numbers, and a build date of March 15, 1974, along with distribution via New York.
