Ebay item 8/10/19
www.ebay.com/itm/1974-Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-V12-Roadster-Classic-Collector-Convertib ...
Car has a buy it now price of $70,000 for 6 days, seller drcco1623_wex3rq, 51k miles. Minnetonka, Minnesota
Seller's description:
I purchased my ’74, in 1996 from a physician here in the Twin Cities. The odometer reading at that time was ~29,000 miles. Based on Minnesota weather I have enjoyed driving my Jaguar, when possible, from late May to the end of October. The car has always been garaged at home and at the office. Before retiring and/or not traveling on business, I tried to drive the Jaguar once a week to the office; weather permitting.
My Jaguar is a well-maintained specimen of British Motoring History. It has spent several months, over the last two years, with my favorite mechanic performing general maintenance and installing the new items listed below. I have all service records on the vehicle from the date of purchase.
Body chrome, bumpers (aka over-riders), upholstery and carpet are all original as are the convertible top, trunk liner, tonneau cover, and tire jack including case. The NADPI steering wheel, fire suppression system and Alpine cassette/radio were installed by the previous owner. All gauges are functioning as is the clock. The exhaust system is stainless steel.
New items include five-period correct radial tires, shocks, brakes, dash, console, sun visors, and XXX Triplex windshield, plus a spin-on oil filter, car cover, new floor mats, & battery tender.
Additional items that go with the car when purchased include:
· Weber carburetor set that was on the car when purchased
· Custom bonnet (hood) bra created by members of the Jaguar Club of Minnesota
· Two Owner’s manuals
· Shop Manual
· Other miscellaneous car parts including the original steering wheel (minus center ring), oil filter assembly, floor mats, and locking gas cap.

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster V12 4-Speed is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in silver-gray over navy blue leather, and features include a black convertible top, a top boot, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, an Alpine cassette stereo, and air conditioning. The car was acquired by the current owner’s uncle in 2019 before the owner took possession in 2025. This Series III E-Type is now offered on dealer consignment by a BaT Local Partner with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, a car cover, a front nose bra, a tonneau cover, and a clean Colorado title.
The car is finished in silver-gray and features a black convertible top, a matching top boot, uncovered headlights, US-spec bumpers, and a forward-hinged louvered hood. The hood strut, door locks, and boot lock were replaced in 2020. The right quarter panel was damaged and repaired in 2021, and the hood and rear bumper were repaired around the same time due to unrelated issues. A black front nose bra and a blue vinyl tonneau cover are included in the sale.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 205/70 Yokohama Avid Touring-S tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering and four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The upper and lower ball joints were serviced in 2019. The handbrake system and rear rotors were replaced in 2021. The brake master cylinder was serviced and the brake pads were replaced in 2022. A leak is noted from the steering shaft input.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in navy blue leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include an Alpine Bi-Level Auto Reverse cassette stereo, a locking glovebox, a wood Jaguar Coventry shift knob, and air conditioning. A compressor for R134a refrigerant was installed in 2019, and the seat covers were repaired in 2020. The heater cable was repaired and the air conditioning system was recharged in 2021. The lamp switches were rebuilt in March 2026.
The Nardi Torino wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, the latter of which was repaired in 2021. A Kienzle analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 net horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. The intake manifold gaskets were replaced and a stainless-steel exhaust system was installed in 2020. A coolant leak was repaired and the thermostat and fan motor were replaced in March 2021. An SNG Barratt ignition conversion featuring a Lucas sports coil was installed in August 2025. The spark plugs were also replaced and the carburetors were adjusted. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale, at which time the accessory belts, water pump, and fuel, heater, and vacuum hoses were replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in 2019, the pinion seal and subframe mounts were replaced in 2021, and the differential oil was changed in 2022. Rust is noted on the rear bodywork near the left wheel. The seller notes a gear or bearing whine from the rear of the car.
