Auction description:
1973 Jaguar E Type V-12 Roadster
Consignment # 9133
VIN: UE1S24077

Offered for Auction sale at Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona January 19th-23rd, 2011.

112 HP, 5.3 Liter V12, 4-speed manual transmission, independent front and rear suspension, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, 105.0” wheelbase.

Finished in its original British Racing Green, the tan leather seats are tight and fresh as is the black soft top. The sparkling fresh optional chrome wire wheels set-off this exciting roadster that is sure to appreciate in value.

This 1973 Jaguar E-Type roadster was restored 10 years ago by a professional restoration company in New Zealand. This labor of love was undertaken by the vendor's husband who passed away before the job was completed. As a tribute to her late husband, she had the restoration finished and the car shipped back to the United States. With just 2,000 miles since the restoration was completed, this car has been covered in her garage and is as fresh now as the day it was completed.

Obviously some confusion on behalf of R&S auctions. The same VIN is listed as a different lot # and sold at a lower price although it could be that its the same car sold at an earlier auction. R&S do not list the auction date or venue in their results:

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
