Car to be at auction 1/16

Lot #826.1 - We are offering a one owner Jaguar that was purchased new from Monte Shelton Jaguar in Portland, Oregon in 1974. The car was driven sparingly throughout the mid to late seventies. From the early 1980's to present, the car has been garaged and not driven. Unfortunately, being garaged for almost three decades, a significant mechanical restoration was required to get this vehicle back to its original high performance condition. At this point, we turned to the dealership where we originally purchased the car. Rick Lovett, Monte Shelton's Service Manager, agreed to take on the project. Rick identified what was necessary to get the car back to its pristine running condition. After an approximate $30,000.00 mechanical restoration, we received the below description from Northwest Vehicle Appraisers: "This is a very fine 1974 Jaguar with only 6650 actual miles. Mostly original and in perfect condition. Just got out of the shop in which the fluids and gaskets have all been changed. New tires put on only because of the weather cracking on the original tires. Seats Re-upholstered because of slight cracking in the leather. This is a one-of-a-kind XKE, E type with a V-12 motor and automatic transmission and the soft and hard tops. This fanatically preserved XKE is, in a word, amazing. Today, this is certainly one of the finest original Jaguars in existence. This time-warp example wears all original paint. Unlike many survivors. The original paint here shines nicely and the chrome and stainless trim are even better. The interior surfaces are also original factory pieces. The convertible top is new and it shows no wear. It goes without saying that engine, transmission and body numbers all match the data plate and that all factory stickers, and VIN tags are in place. Performance and appearance received attention to detail. Runs and drives as well as it looks." With a 1- rating, We suspect this is one of the finest original jaguars in the country.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
