Ebay item 7/20/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Original-1972-E-Type-V-12-Roadster-NO-RESERVE-/280924214 ...
Current bid $15,300, no reserve 3 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Fulfilling a long time desire, in 1986 the previous owner purchased this car in Portland and drove it 3 hours south to his home near Roseburg, Oregon. An architect and attorney, he parked it adjacent to his Lotus Elan and his BMW motorcycle, with his 30' sailboat outside. Prior to pulling into his garage he must have filled up the gas tank. It was (and is!) still nearly full of 1986 gas; the next time the car moved was September 2011, when I pushed it out of his garage to be transported to my house 15 miles away!

I am not an expert on V-12 E-Types but this seems to me to be an unusually original car. The odometer shows 56,205 miles and based upon the car's history and condition of the interior, I can believe it is the original mileage. The body appears to be unmolested, and the doors, bonnet, and deck lid open and shut very well. Amazingly, all the tires hold air, the brakes and the clutch hydraulics still work, and the motor turns over. I have NOT tried to start it, in fact the only thing mechanical I have done was to remove the plugs and put some oil in the cylinders. I also cleaned up the wheels, and the interior. The paint might buff out OK but I doubt it. The chrome is fine but would benefit from some elbow grease.

I was attracted to this car because of how straight and original it was, and I really like the color combination. I've attempted to take pictures that clearly and fairly show the condition. The interior is pretty amazing. Under the bonnet it is quite clean, and complete. It does not have A/C, which to me was a plus, since this adds much complication. There are some pimples on the trailing edge of the bonnet belly pan, and a section of the spare tire wheel well that will require some repair-- looks like water collected in that low spot. The convertible top is split and needs to be replaced, though the cover is in good shape.

I believe this is a really excellent car to start with for a full restoration, but I would be more inclined to get it running, do the hydraulics, and enjoy it for awhile. That was my thinking when I bought it, but I simply don't have the time, and won't anytime soon.

1972 Jaguar XKE Series III Roadster
2014 The Houston Classic Auction
Lot 15
ESTIMATE: $70,000 - $ 90,000
CHASSIS NO: UC1S20621
The example offered here is a 1972 Series III with Jaguar's magnificent V-12 engine and is indeed a great example of the E-Type heritage. This is a very well-cared for Jaguar with just 56,207 miles on it since new. It wears a new coat of its original Light Blue paint and looks truly stunning with the top up or down. The "as needed" restoration of this fine machine was just completed in September of 2013 and it now runs and drives as nice as it looks. Indeed, the impressive stance of the E-Type Jaguar is nicely displayed in this most seldom seen and beautiful color. All trim and exterior cosmetics were given proper attention and detailing including its wheel discs that gleam like new. The chassis was detailed and refurbished with new front control arms and restored parts were powder coated for a long lasting finish. Under the bonnet beats the mighty Jaguar V-12 and this one is nicely detailed throughout. The engine was completely rebuilt and is mated to a four-speed transmission that gives this Jaguar a true sports car feel. The disc brakes are new and stop the 3,435 pound car with ease. The interior required little and remains in factory original condition. The dashboard is finely detailed and the seats carry a nice patina that only fine quality leather affords. This stunning Jaguar has only been driven break-in miles since its restoration and stands ready for many more.

Car to return to auction 7/15

Auction description:
1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III V-12 Roadster
Lot No. 2129
To be offered on Saturday, July 18, 2015
Offered Without Reserve
Estimate: $ 90,000 - $120,000

This E-Type was completed on May 24, 1972 and is finished in light blue with contrasting navy leather interior. Importantly, the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate has confirmed that the engine, body, and gearbox numbers match the build sheet indicating that they are original to the car. The 57,000 miles shown on the odometer is believed to be the mileage from new.

The history of this E-Type is unknown until its purchase in 1986 by a gentleman fulfilling a long time desire to own his dream car. He acquired car in Portland and drove it 3 hours south to his home near Roseburg, Oregon. It was parked in his home and there it rested until September of 2011, when it was pushed out of the garage and transported to the next caretaker's home, just 15 miles away. A mechanical and cosmetic restoration was completed in September 2013 but its original leather interior was preserved instead of replaced.

This matching-numbers E-Type comes with low original miles, and is finished in Light Blue with a nicely contrasting Navy leather interior, with a black convertible top. The roadster has received both a mechanical and cosmetic restoration, and is having the interior improved, keeping intact the preserved interior for originality. Recently this E-type has received a full service, had the engine serviced, carbs rebuilt, and new suspension bushings, brake flex lines, motor mounts, front shocks installed. This car would be a great daily driver for a Jaguar lover, and comes with its Jaguar Heritage certificate of Authenticity.

Car to be at auction 3/16
www.rmsothebys.com/am16/amelia-island/lots/1972-jaguar-e-type-series-3-v-12-road ...

Auction description:
Amelia Island 12 March 2016
1972 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V-12 Roadster

Chassis no. UC1S 20621
Engine no. 7S 7424 SB
Body no. 4S 2125

Without Reserve

The desirable roadster offered here is an early V-12 car with small bumper overriders, built on May 18, 1972, and sold through Jaguar's New York distributor. It more recently received a mechanical and cosmetic restoration by Classic Showcase in Oceanside, California, including a major tune-up with the engine serviced, the carburetors overhauled, and the motor mounts replaced. The suspension was rebuilt with new bushings, while the brakes were overhauled with new lines, and new shocks were fitted. The rear end was rebuilt with new seals, and the wheels were balanced. The body has been refinished in the original Light Blue, with a black top, while the dark blue leather interior within is the preserved original and has a pleasant patina.

A Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate confirms this is a matching-numbers car, and the odometer indicates only 56,240 miles, which are believed to be original. The roadster rides on the preferred chrome wire wheels and is fitted with a factory British Leyland AM/FM radio.

This car presents as a well-cared-for original that has been restored to be driven, though the new owner may wish to show it as well. As the very last series of E-Type, it occupies a special place in Jaguar history.
