    Ebay item 10/7/10
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-E-TYPE-COUPE-1971-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-COUPE-REST ...
    Current bid $14,100 reserve not met, 3 bids 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
    1971 Jaguar E-Type Coupe. This 4.2 liter, 6 cylinder coupe was restored in 2001 with additional work performed in 2008 by Blackhorse Garage. Black horse is one of the premier restoration shops in the North East. We have full records of the restoration, including photos. The following work was done.

    * COMPLETE ENGINE REBUILD, INCLUDING NEW PISTON, INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVE, MAIN BEARINGS, ROD BEARINGS AND FULL MACHINE WORK.
    * NEW INTERIOR (By G.W. Bartlett Co. inc) IN HIGH GRADE CONNELY LEATHER, INCLUDING MOHAIR HEADLINER
    * FRONT END REBUILD
    * CARBURETTORS REBUILT
    * R@R A/C SYSTEM, CONVERTING TO R-134 WITH NEW HOSES RECIEVER DRYER
    * NEW COOLCAT ALUMINUM RADIATOR WITH DUAL ELECTRIC FANS.
    * NEW FRONT AND REAR BRAKE CALIPERS, ROTORS, BRAKE LINES, MASTER CYLINDER AND PADS.
    * NEW MUFFLERS
    * NEW ALTERNATOR
    * NEW CLUTCH AND CLUTCH MASTER AND SLAVE CYLINDER
    * NEW SHOCKS AND BUSHINGS
    * COMPLETE REPAINT IN METALIC MAROON, INCLUDING ALL BODYWORK.
    * NEW POWER STEERING RACK

    As can be seen by the above work, this car has had no expense spared on its restoration. She has been driven approximately 6000 miles on the restoration, and is very well sorted. The engine starts and runs beautifully, doesn’t smoke and has almost no leaks (it’s a British car, if its dry, it has no oil!!!). All of the mechanical systems work as they should, including the power steering. The chrome, including the spoked rims is in excellent condition, and the radial tires are new. She drives well, with tight steering and suspension. The transmission shifts with authority, and ther syncros are excellent. This is an A/C car , but the A/C system has been removed. We have all of the hardware, and it will be included in the purchase of the car. This is one of the nicest coupes we have seen. E-type coupes are underated collector cars, and often are not restored well, this car is the rare exception. This car is both mechanically and cosmetically superb!!! Needing nothing except a proud new owner, This Jaguar is ready to go!!!

    The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

    What disease did Lucas succumb to?
