This car was involved in a major front end accident Sept 2009 that resulted in it being written off and sold as CAT D by the insurance company (NIG Ltd). I was driving it :(

What a beautiful car to have to write off as result of accident. Wish I could find information on another E Type from the Southport area that I have seen. From what i've seen briefly of it, it looks like a 2+2 series 2 and maroon, though I think its correct colour is regency red from looking at the colour codes. Some rust was apparent on the 'growler bar' of the air in take. It seems to have stood in the same place outside a house for some time. I've searched the xkedata site but havn't found it.

This car is listed with the wrong chassis number in the main listing although the data plate entry may be correct. The main listing shows as 2r14095...I KNOW that to be incorrect as I OWN 2r14095; my car is also in XKEDATA and SOMEONE HAS CHANGED MY Chassis number incorrectly.

i'M HOPING THIS INFO LEADS TO A CORRECTION

The details posted about this eType are CORRECT and confirmed by the DVLA Log book. The guy that imported it from USA about 15 years ago sold it to me and I restored it and ran it for 10+ years until the accident in 2009 where it was written off CAT D. A salvage yard (Hills, Skelmersdale) bought it off the insurers and sold it on. I believe it is still on DVLA books possibly repaired and back on the road. I hope the current owner knows it was a write off.

If the attached registration serves correct, this car was registered in Kansas in 1981, it was light blue, with a cracked windshield, and rear trunk lid that would not close. Overheated and sold in Nov 1981 to a local buyer.

I tried to attach a photo of the 1981 registration. It won't seem to attach. Car was registered in Kansas in Johnson county as of 1981, details: title number 16444010, tag number was : jov20120, to a Joseph J Weinrich, expired 11/25/81.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
